Our Thinking

The three things we are most likely thinking when it comes to solving business problems.

We think it’s important to understand how your strategic partners do their thinking, especially when advising your business on solutions to possible challenges.

So, to be clear, here’s the questions we’re most likely asking ourselves when confronted with a challenge for one of our clients.

1. What are the alternatives?

It’s human nature to jump to solutions wherever a problem is identified. Unfortunately, all too often the first ‘solution’ is the one that sticks, even when better alternatives were readily available.

So, before we jump to solution ideas, especially for new or unique issues, we think it’s worth a quick pause to see if there are any alternative ways to solve the problem at hand.

2. What’s best for your bottom line – not ours?

It’s far too tempting at times to identify solutions to problems that just happen to sit in your comfort zone. Worse, for businesses like ours, the temptation is to recommend solutions that create work for us, but may not be ideal for you.

By focusing entirely on what will drive the most success for our client’s bottom line, we ensure that any solution we recommend is always in their best interest, rather than our own.

3. What would we do in your shoes?

Sometimes, the best solution to a problem isn’t going to increase your bottom line – think of decisions regarding recalling products or improving part quality for example.

In situations like these, it’s again imperative that we focus on what’s in the best interest of the business, but perhaps with a longer-term perspective. We champion a business approach that puts customers first. At times that can mean making decisions that aren’t in your immediate interests but will prove valuable in the mid to long-term.

We see our role here as the impartial voice of your customer, but with the added advantage of having a much greater understanding about your business.
